9 Anchors of Health
DrJuice's Foundation for Optimal Health and Beauty
Nutrition
Fueling our bodies with proper nutrition gives us the best chance for achieving and maintaining optimal health.
4 points of focus:
Biodiversity - look to eat at least 30 different whole food fruits and veggies a week
Maintain a whole plant focus on your diet
97% of people are not getting enough fiber a day, yet fiber is king in so many areas of health in our bodies - women 25 grams/men 38 grams optimal
Learn which foods/liquids are acid and which are alkaline and work to maintain a proper PH balance in your body
Cut out the 2 most harmful causes of nutritional stress: added sugar and refined grains
Hydration
Did you know that dehydration is our bodies number 1 stressor, yet according to the CDC, only 22% of adults drink the recommended 8 cups of water a day!Water acts as a powerful detoxification. It also transports nutrients, hormones, chemicals, enzymes, electrolytes and our brain pulse. It’s the temperature of the body! What happens when you’re dehydrated? You feel tired, you don’t eliminate waste properly, blood volume increases, histamine levels rise and we become more allergic to toxins around us, headaches, chronic pain and digestive stress may occur, we become more depressed, tense, confused, angry and bloat more easily! Yikes! Dehydration also hinders our immune system. It’s the single most important factor in the functioning of our immune system!
Rest
When we do not get enough sleep, there are about there are at least 10 different hormones and neurotransmitters in the brain that go sideways. With 8 hours a sleep a night you: lose weight, curb your cravings for carbs., reverse depression, lower your blood pressure and stress levels, reverse type 2 diabetes, minimize the risk of heart disease, help prevent cancer. Melatonin is the most potent antioxidant known!
Movement
We were designed to move from the inside out. Our cells are constantly moving, working hard to transport nutrients, energize our body and get rid of waste. Studies show that those who exercise live 3-7 years longer than those who do not. Movement and exercise have been proven to make tissue more sensitive to insulin and therefore decrease your chance of developing Type 2 diabetes, lower the levels of progesterone and estrogen in the bloodstream, keep us young by stimulating autophagy in the cells, improve our vascular system and increase the flow of our lymphatic system which in turn helps ward off disease.
Emotional Health
Today more than ever studies are showing that our emotional health and physical health are tied together. We know that you can eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want, but if you are emotionally stressed or just “off” your body suffers and so does your health.
Emotional stress also makes us more acidic and leads to inflammation and weakening of our immune systems.
Points of focus:
Fiber and production of short chain fatty acids
Remembering that our 70 trillion cells regenerate every mili second!
Focus on the present moment
Spent time each day meditating quietly with yourself
Stay true to who you are not what the world says etc.
Surrender
Self Love
Maintain healthy boundaries
Cleansing
We must toss dead cells, bacteria, viruses and other metabolic waste, free radicals (atoms containing an odd number of electrons). There are more than 3,000 chemicals added to the food we eat and 10,000 chemical solvents, emulsifiers and preservatives used to process foods! Another chemical we deal with is phthalates - plastics! Dioxin (most toxic substance known to science) is a the big one and according to the WHO, we get 90% of our exposure to dioxins from our food
Points of focus:
Drink lots of water
Eat enough fiber - both soluble (kind we absorb) and insoluble (the kind we do not absorb, scrub Brush)
Physical activity
Pay attention to signs inflammation and irritants are getting the best of us: dry skin, acne, headaches, itchy eyes, indigestion, constipation, achy joints and fatigue
Light
Exposure to the daily cycles of natural light is critical for synchronizing the hormone cycles that regulate our energy, metabolism, mood, sleep and overall health and well-being.
Different wavelength have been linked to a multitude of health benefits. We absorb light energy in a similar way plants absorb light energy from the sun.

Skincare
What we apply to our skin is as important as what we put in our body.
We believe an authentic vibrant glow can only be achieved by nourishing your body and skin from the inside out and outside in.
The average person uses about 2000 chemicals on their skin per day. Just like our internal health requires fresh and clean nutrients to thrive, developing a clean healthy skin regimen will effect the way you look and feel.
